Frequently Asked Questions
Our Process Overview:
1) After your questionnaire has been approved and your deposit is placed your name will be added our puppy waiting list. You can view it online on our Available puppies page.
2) Around the first of the year, I put families names with Dog parents and post it on our “Available puppies” page.
3) Once a breeding has taken place there will be a group email sent informing families when expected due date and go home dates will be.
4) When Puppies are 4 weeks old another group email is sent to keep families updated on their puppies and are given a list of supplies they’ll need when puppies go home.
5) Puppies will be chosen generally in the order of deposit placed between 5 & 6 weeks of age via social media photos and videos. You may follow along on Facebook: Yellow Creek Labs and our Instagram: @yellowcreeklabmom
6) AKC registrations are included with the price of your puppy. All Puppies will have the prefix of Yellow Creek. You may give us your chosen registered name after puppy picks.
7) We schedule puppy pick-ups or delivery at 8 weeks of age and allow 3 days past 8 weeks for pick up or delivery. (All puppies have to be picked up or shipped ontime.) All puppies are paid for by 6 weeks of age.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require a $500.00 deposit. Puppies are reserved in the order of which we receive the deposits. If the litter, you are assigned to does not result in a puppy you will have the option of moving to another litter. If moving litters, choice order will not be guaranteed.
What is the price of a puppy?
Puppies are currently $3500.00 We require a $500 deposit to hold your spot and the remaining balance is due by the time the puppies 6 weeks old.
How does the puppy pick process work?
The breeder has the first choice in every litter, male or female. We like to help navigate the process as we know our puppies best. The order of choosing is normally how the deposits were received but there are exceptions to this. If for example in an earlier litter there weren’t enough puppies, we would also add those families to the next litter if there was enough puppies. Families should keep in mind that each puppy will be a wonderful family dog.
When do I pick my puppy?
Puppies are chosen through photos and videos posted on our social media accounts. You may follow along on our Facebook: Yellow Creek Labs
Where are you located?
We are located in Tampa, Florida.
Will I be able to watch my puppy grow?
Yes, we upload photos and videos on a regular basis on Instagram and Facebook. Puppies are generally assigned a ribbon color in the first few weeks so we can monitor their progress and families can watch them grow.
When will my puppy be able to come home?
All puppies will go home around 8 weeks of age.
Can I pick my puppy out in person?
For the safety of our puppies we are very careful about visitors before puppies have had their first set of vaccinations. Since our puppies go all over the United States families chose from the photos and videos presented on Social Media. Most puppies in a litter are fairly consistent. Of course we can offer guidance on a puppy since we know them best.
How do I get my puppy?
Puppy pick-ups or shipped are scheduled at 8 weeks of age and picked up in person. We offer airport meets and after sometime we prefer you to come here and meet the crew. All puppies go home with a collar, leash, binder of parents pedigree, health clearances, microchip registration (one time fee of $19.95 when registered online), information on exercise, information on dangerous foods, plants, and household items, puppy potty training, a stuffie, blanket that smells like mom, travel bowl, a baggy of food, and poo bags. We feel this prepares the puppy for a smoother transition into their new forever home.

No, we sell all puppies at limited registration.
How big will my lab puppy grow to?
Labradors on average are between 65-80 pounds. Females are usually lighter than males.
What kind of toys do you recommend?
I personally use Nylabones, Benebones, West Paw Design & Kong toys. Do not give your dog/puppy rope toys and rawhide or cooked bones. We have the best luck with larger rubber durable toys, non-edible nylabones, and bene bones (our dog’s favorite, they told us) and chuck-it balls.
